CARFAX searches its nationwide database and provides a detailed vehicle history report in seconds. You will receive information on model year, manufacturer and model. CARFAX Reports do not include owners' names and addresses (for both individuals and companies). This allows us to comply fully with the 1994 Drivers Privacy Protection Act that prohibits third parties such as CARFAX from distributing such information.

NICB's VINCheck database contains vehicles which have been reported stolen by cooperating NICB members, but not recovered. To perform a search a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is required. A maximum of 5 VINCheck searches can be conducted within a 24 hour period.
